Bollywood Actor Shilpa Shetty Blessed with a Baby Boy

Shilpa Shetty joined the list of Bollywood moms on May 21, 2012 when she gave birth to a healthy baby boy at Hinduja Healthcare Surgical Hospital in suburban Khar. Her husband Raj Kundra was on seventh heaven and he was the one who broke the news to the world when he tweeted, “God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine. I am thrilled to bits.” Raj was with his celebrity wife since the beginning till the time she was admitted and till her delivery during early morning on Monday.

Raj was so excited at becoming father for the first time that he was right there in the hospital since Shilpa was brought there and left only after he saw the face of his child. His tweets after the arrival of the baby aptly reflected his joy and ecstasy. He thanked his wife along with Dr. Cohelho and the staff of the hospital and tweeted, “A big thank you to my wife @TheShilpaShetty for the bestest gift ever, Dr. Kiran Cohelho and all the staff at Hinduja Hospital.” Raj did not forget to thank all the fans for their good wishes and blessings on this important occasion.

Entire family of Shilpa and Raj was present at the hospital to celebrate this happy occasion including her mother Sunanda and sister Shamita. The delivery of Shilpa was due any day. She had gone to the hospital for a regular check up but the doctors thought it better to admit her immediately as the contractions had started. Shilpa had a normal delivery and there were absolutely no complications. She is reported to be healthy and doing fine after the delivery and is being cared for well by the experienced doctors and staff at the popular boutique hospital.

Shilpa Shetty, who shot to international fame and celebrity status with the UK version of the reality show Big Brother in 2007, met Raj Kundra in the same year at a party which was hosted by her friend and business partner Kiran Bawa. Both Shilpa and Raj got along well and got engaged in October of 2009. They were married on November 22, 2009 and have been one of the most high profile couples since then. Their marriage was a really grand affair with a variety of cuisines being served at live counters and a nine-tier cake that weighed 80 kilograms.

Following the strategy of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shilpa too has not allowed the photographers to get a glimpse of her bundle of joy. The couple has not released any pic of their child on Twitter either. The world is still awaiting the first pictures of this celebrity baby and no one knows how long the wait is going to be. According to reports, the couple has not yet decided about the name of their child and the baby, it seems, does not even have a pet name as of now.

Talking of baby names, the most popular star kid right now is the six-month-old granddaughter of Megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The baby, we have been told, has been named Aaradhya Bachchan. Aaradhya is a lovely name and also starts with the alphabet A. Let us hope that Shilpa take a clue from this and decides on a wonderful name for her baby boy.

If Shilpa decides to tread the line of the Bachchans again, we might get something like Sparsh, Sneh, or Sanket as a name for her little one as all these names also start with the alphabet S. However, these are all assumptions and the final decision obviously lies with Shilpa and her husband only. As fans, we can only wish loads of happiness and joy to the couple as well as to their little prince.

Importance of Baby Names Meaning

Away from the cultural and ethnic background, there is also the fact that there are meanings that are tied to different baby boy names or baby girl names. Therefore the baby is given a name according to the most desirable thing his or her parents wish him or her to be linked with. A few baby boy names meanings are; Jacob meaning supplanter, Ethan meaning Strong, Alexander meaning Defending Men, Joshua meaning God rescues, Christopher meaning bearer of Christ etc. On the side of baby girl names, there are names like; Emma meaning all containing, Isabella meaning my God is a vow, Emily meaning rival, etc.

In most cases, people just throw in names without paying any attention to any of these factors. They name their babies according to the names they find most suitable and adorable. If someone for example grew up fond of a name like ‘Mike’, chances are that that will be the name of the baby that individual gets.
br> Babies, just like other people also need second names. In most instances, the second name of the baby is automatically derived from the family name, which is always the father’s last name. Where a family second name is not used, a name that abides to the culture of the baby is used. This applies mostly in babies with an origin that is not western, where people give their babies a second name that identify them with a certain culture.

What does My Name Mean

Celebrity movie star Kate Hudson and her fiancĂ© British rocker Matt Bellamy recently gave birth to their baby boy. The tabloids were ripe with speculation regarding the baby name the couple would choose for the newly arrived family member. After much deliberation, the couple chose the name “Bingham” or “Bing” for short much like the search engine. Meanwhile, on an entirely different plain, celebrity football star David Beckham, who plays for Manchester United, and wife Victoria were busy naming their newly arrived baby daughter Harper Seven which sounds more like a password to a secret Gmail account than a baby name. What is it with the movers and shakers of our planet? Don’t they realize that the first thing their child is going to ask Dad and Mom when the “time cometh” is “what does my name mean?”

A Rich and Holy Tradition of Celebrity Baby Names

The practice of giving off-beat and unusual names to celebrity babies isn’t a recent trend by any stretch of the human imagination, More than three decades ago, singer composer Frank Zappa shocked everyone by naming his daughter Moon Unit Zappa. Moon later grew up to be a mover and shaker in her own right with hits like Valley Girl and others. More recent examples include Jermaine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s elder brother,  who named his baby Jermajesty, and actor, skateboarder and photographer, Jason Lee who named his baby Pilot Inspektor.

Probing questions like “what does my name mean” or “what does my last name mean”  are obviously not restricted to celebrity children. Even you have the right to know.  Although whether or not your name has a meaning may have more to do with your ethnic heritage and cultural background, it really doesn’t hurt to either ask or research the issue because  many baby name meanings are not obvious at first glance. In the Hindu naming tradition for example, chances are about 99.5% that your name means something and may be derived from Sanskrit, India’s ancient language. On the other hand, its meaning may be known only to those who are familiar with  the language because, like Latin, Sanskrit isn’t used anywhere in India for conversational purposes.

Many norman and Anglo-Saxon names have no meaning and even if they do, the meaning may be more legendary than derived through etimology. In China, baby names take on clearly defined meanings and often tend to reflect virtues and traits that are worthy of emulation. As is the case with baby names in these cultures, the names of babies can have religious connotations in many parts of the world thus assuming added significance.

Direct Response to the Million Dollar Baby Name Meaning Question

Let us spring ahead for a moment instead of falling  behind and assume that you are now a parent and have a child who wakes up one fine morning and pops the question, “what does my name mean?” Your response should be as natural as can be. it is very likely that  you researched baby name meanings when you researched baby names for your son or daughter. In that case the answer will be forthcoming instantly. If that is not the case and given the remote possibility that you do not know the meaning of your child’s name, simply buy time. Say that you need a day to come up with your baby name’s meaning and share it as soon as Almighty Google has shared it with you. You can also use the vast resources of websites and arrive at the correct answer.

Either way, any questions regarding your baby’s name (after all a baby is always a baby no matter how old he or she is) such as “what does my name mean” or “what does my last name mean” should be  addressed by you and your significant other accurately and in a timely fashion. If there is an anecdote behind your baby’s name, share it. If there is a family connection with a grand dad or grand mom, reveal it. Discussions about baby names once the children are old enough to understand is always productive and instills in them not only a sense of confidence but also  goes a long way to help the family come closer and bond together.
